“Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.”
-Alan Watts
Sometimes, the best course of action is to simply let things be and not interfere, as interfering can make the situation worse. Muddy water can be a difficult or complicated situation where emotions or tensions are running high, causing confusion or chaos.
When one tries to forcefully intervene and clear the water, they may actually end up stirring up more sediment and making the water even muddier. Instead, the best way to clear the water is to simply let it settle on its own. By leaving the water alone, the sediment will naturally settle to the bottom, and the water will eventually become clear again.
Similarly, in life, there may be situations where we feel compelled to intervene and take action in order to resolve a problem. However, sometimes it may be better to step back and allow the situation to resolve itself naturally without our interference. This can help prevent us from making things worse and potentially allow for a more peaceful and natural resolution.
